Akira-A Brief History Part 1

Welcome to my blog.

My name is Akira and I play Counter Strike:Source. I have been playing for nearly 2 years now and it is my favourite game so decided to create this blog so I can waffle on and bitch and moan about all the noobs I come across and also give my tips and tricks.

My name comes from the famous anime movie Akira, which was one of the first anime’s to be hugely successfull in the western world. I am named after the movie and not the character. Other alias’s I use on occassions are: B337H0V3N, Roland the Gunslinger, Bilbo Nabbins and Jack Bauer.

I started out playing random servers and eventually had one regular server I played on each night. This was Lanarchy.co.uk’s dust2/Office server. I eventually joined Lanarchy’s clan. After a while I left as I was inactive and was going on a break from CSS. At this stage I was ok skill-wise, could hold my own on a public but nothing special though.

Four months later I pick up CSS again. Lanarchy server seems to be deserted so time to hunt for other servers.

I start going on gun game servers, I’ve played these in the past and they were quite fun, map depending so thought it’d be a good place to get my aim back. Enjoyed it to an extent, was fed up of having to use the ump and mac10 (I’d do more damage with a Gillette Mac2). Did notice two pistols felt very good. They were the five-seven and the compact.

It was at this time that I decided to ditch gun games and head over to some pubs. I chose Wildcards’ Dust/Dust2/Office server. I made a decision, for some bizzarre reason, to only use pistols on this sever, and only limit it to five-seven as CT and compact as T. It turns out that this was a reasonable decision as Wildcards had the gay dynamic pricing on, so pistols were always available but you had to take out a mortgage to get an M4, which is what I was usually partial to.

Don’t know what it was, but I somehow became waaaaaaay better than previously. Maybe its because you cant afford to spray with a pistol, ever shot has to count so you’re forced to aim and get headshots. Anywho, within a month I shot to 9th in the Wildcards ranking, purely with those two pistols.

It was at this special place that I met a Geordie nab by the name of Duke (lol), he was part of a cland called SiTDown (STD). He seemed to be one of the few who actually used the in game voice chat for what it was meant to be used for, plus he gave orders that people seemd to follow, must be that endearing accent.

We fragged alongside each other for a while and then he eventually invited me to his clan. At first I wasn’t sure if I was ready to be in a clan but quickly decided to give it a try.
